During the tightly contested federal election of 2004, Matt B Media was hired to create communication materials for the NDP's Toronto candidates and events. Blackett designed and developed the promotional goods for the Let's Jack It Up show with the Barenaked Ladies on the eve of the election; worked with campaign managers to produce the communication materials for Jack Layton's home riding; and did the photography, design and copywriting for information kits about the party's urban transit platform.

CHALLENGES: During elections, deadlines are the most important thing in the world. And projects that usually take a few weeks are compressed into a few days. Matt B Media was able to provide the NDP with quick turnarounds, and a level of sophistication to the party's marketing materials that had been absent in previous elections.
